Scrappy Love Notes

Greetings from CityGal Papeterie!

Hope you are all starting your weekends in full positivity! For today’s post I wanted to show how you can incorporate scraps from other cards to create new cards.

I am a firm believer in wasting as little as possible and reusing or repurposing whenever possible. Using leftover scraps from cards made for earlier posts I was able to make a couple of Valentine cards (which is only 17 days away!! ❤ <3)  Below you can see the pieces I used to make the new cards.

There were still left overs that I will use in future cards like the music note paper, the ribbon and the cardstock with the multi colored dashes.

SUPPLIES:

  • Left over scraps as seen above
  • Marvy White gel pen
  • Tombow Mono multi glue
  • Pink Heart doily from my stash
  • Wink of Stella glitter brush
  • Precut and scored patterned A2 card by Recollections and a precut and scored 5 1/4 x 5 1/4 card from my stash
  • Papermate Flair tip marker pen in magenta

TOOLS:

  • 5/8 in flower punch by Recollections
  • Flower punch by EK Tools
  • Large Westcott Non stick scissors

Both cards were quickly and easily put together using minimal supplies and tools. The 1st card (pictured below) also has small hand made cards crafted from the leftover paper. (Tutorial for these will be featured in a future post).

For the second card (pictured below) I simply used a pink heart doily which I was very excited to use since not sure about crafters out there but I LOVE doilies and just never find uses for them (IDEAS WELCOME!). And using the left over pink polka dot strip I glued a top and bottom border and embellished the card using the heart stickers I had left. I also used a papermate magenta flair tip to draw stitching and accents on the doily.

I hope you found this CARDspirational.

Thank you for visiting!

Please leave me a comment if you found this helpful or if you have any other tips or ideas on how to use paper scraps!

  1. These are lovely, and a great way to use scraps without it looking like a mixing pot that some scrap busters can. I really like both, the little envelopes are just adorable, but that punk heart and doily card is stunning
